Dunno all i been told is that this is the level of graphics they want eve running at and so far every other expansion they're making steps twoards this, this expansion includes the new planets and moons maybe next year well get the new background nebulas, and the year after the super shiney, maybe then theyll have gun recioling fixed and engine trails back (noticed that was present in this video either, also noted they didnt show off a new cyno effect probably because they're not done with it, why show something you are not going to give). All I know is this is the best they can do now for now is toss it though thier video maker on some ridicuosly over powered developer machine where the environments on thier play server can be just as small as a few systems just loaded with the wholesome goodness of a graphics system.
As for the comment about fighting at planets, they where fighting at a station, they've moved most of the warp in points on stations pos and defaults warp to planets have been changed to be closer to them to show off thier new graphics.
Moms may return to the front lines but thats up to the ccp development team and how well you guys utilize the changes such as the fighter bombers. However I feel sad that alot of you decided to shoot the messenger on who just happened to be nohz.
The comment that nobody uses a force recon or tech 2 or 3 in fleet battles is sort of ignornat that there are those who will use a tech 2 ship for a specific ability inaccessable or highly determential to rely on tech 1 ships to use. IE command ship where slapping on three links on one ship is better than forcing three other ships to lose dps slapping on gang links on that, heavy interdictor having an ability that nobody can have. Now stuff like a tech 2 battleship or any faction ship of course would be idiotic to bring though for a full on fleet fight, a small skirmish situation could be argued on for days though.
